Char Vance

History was made on October 18, 2015 as thousands crowded into St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican to witness the first married couple to be canonized together. Louis and Zelie Martin, the parents of St. Therese of Liseux, widely renown as The Little Flower, are the first husband and wife to achieve sainthood. As ordinary as they seemed, there was something supernatural in their lives. Along with serious faith, their home was a place of laughter, joy, and warmth, depsite their many sufferings, they were given the grace and peace to embrace the cross of Jesus. Just two months before the beloved Little Flower died she wrote the much quoted “God gave me a father and mother more worthy of Heaven than earth.” I Now Pronounce you Saints. That’s Our Focus!
