New Beginnings Prayer Challenge

Generosity 2024

October 29: New Beginnings: A Matter of Worship

October 29, 2023

How are new beginnings made possible through your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness. While today marks the end of the generosity emphasis for October, it is only the beginning of what God is going to do with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Today, you are invited to consider the question, “How are "New Beginnings" made possible through your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness?” Prayer response cards can be found in the envelope holders on the back of your pew at the ends of the pew. Complete your prayer card and place it on the communion rail at the end of the service or the interactive prayer station in the Chestnut Lobby. Also, don’t forget to return your 2024 estimate of giving card inthe offering plate, to the church office, or by mail. This estimate helps us better prepare for 2024 and marks your commitment to the church for the coming year, both financially and spiritually. Please return your commitment card by the end of this month. As the prophet proclaimed of the Lord, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” God is doing a new thing at First United Methodist Church, and you are invited to be a part of it.

Oct 8 New Beginnings- Step Up in Ministry and MIssion with GFUMC

October 8, 2023

October 8 marks the second week of Generosity: New Beginnings and our theme is “The Great Adventure.” Our journey in discipleship is a Great Adventure with Jesus. Today you are asked to pray over the question, “I feel led to “step-up” in ministry and missions at First United Methodist Church by”. Response cards can be found in the envelope holders on the back of your pew at the ends of the pew. You are invited to respond to the question, placing it on the communion rail at the end of the service and or the interactive prayer station in the Chestnut Lobby. I would also encourage you to visit that prayer station today or later this week if you are at the church. You should have received by now your 2024 estimate of giving. This estimate helps us better prepare for 2024 and marks your commitment to the church for the coming year. If you have not received your card or have questions, please contact the church office or a staff member. I hope you are praying about how you are being led to live into discipleship for the coming year, not only in giving but in all aspects of discipleship. You may turn in your cards to the church office and through the offering plate any time this month. As the prophet proclaimed of the Lord, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” God is doing a new thing at First United Methodist Church, and you are invited to be a part of it.
