The prophecies in the Old Testament about a future Messiah emphasized His reign upon “the throne of David.” As if to point the way to that kingdom, the path that led to the coming of Christ weaved its way through the great days of the Kingdom of Israel, its ultimate dissolution, and the unprecedented ministries of prophets sent by God to prepare the way for Him. This study considers the events in Israel’s past and the Old Testament prophecies that led to the first coming of Christ and, at the same time, so clearly point to our own future.
