Wednesday Night Class by Eric Laverentz

January 18, 2023
6:00 - 7:15pm

One of the most noteworthy theologians of the 20th Century is Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He died before the age of 40 in a Nazi prison as an enemy of the state. Not only was Bonhoeffer an outstanding theologian and pastor, he was also a prophet and visionary who saw very early on the dangerous agenda of the Third Reich. In the last ten years, interest in Dietrich Bonhoeffer has been on the rise and there is so much of his story to tell. Beginning January 18 at 6 PM-7:15 PM in Room 2115 at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, Lead Pastor Eric Laverentz will walk us through the life and theology of this important 20th century church leader. The class will feature lectures, small group discussion, video and practical application to our community and world. Participants will be asked to pay $15 for reading materials, including an abridged copy of Eric Metaxas’ biography Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Prophet, Martyr, Spy as well as a book of readings encompassing some of his major works.
