As we continue to focus on our 2021 theme of "changing lives through Christ", we need to realize that being in community (close fellowship) with one another is essential. In community we serve one another and strengthen one another so that we all experience the life-changing power of Christ and grow strong in Him. Without Christian community we become poorer and weaker in our faith.

As we continue with our 2021 theme of "changing lives through Christ", we seek not only to experience the life changing power of Christ in our lives but to share it with the world. To be a part of the mission of Jesus is probably at the same time one of the most terrifying things to many Christians and the most wonderful thing in which we could ever invest our lives. Thankfully with the call Jesus gives us the power to fulfill it. In the power of the Holy Spirit we become channels of the life-changing message of Jesus and His kingdom.
Commitment to Christ

Our theme for 2021 is "changing lives through Christ." Last week I introduced three C's that are essential for changing lives through Christ. They are commitment to Christ, community with believers, and commission to the world. For the next three Sundays we'll take these one by one beginning with commitment to Christ. Our commitment to Christ is the result of and response to Christ's commitment to us. Experiencing His love deeply will turn our lives inside out and lead us into a great adventure of living with Him and for Him.
Souls on Fire

We'll begin the New Year together with the Lord's Supper. Our Savior became flesh in the manger so that He could bear our sin in His body on the cross. We give thanks for the One who gave Himself for us. The message is "Souls on Fire" from Matthew 24:12-14. While many will grow spiritually cold in the last days, I pray that our souls will be on fire for our Lord and His kingdom in 2021.
