The Church of Laodicea is most famously known as “the Lukewarm Church”. But what does it mean when Christ says, “I would rather you be hot or cold?” This message explores this passage and helps us to see that being hot or cold is a matter of dependence or self-reliance. Our ambition as Christians is not to make a name for ourselves or see what we can do for His name. Rather, our ambition must be to be in relationship with Him and to walk with Him faithfully depending on the Spirit to lead us.

Nominal Christianity is a cancer in our culture. Many will claim the name of Jesus, yet few will actually let their lives be shaped by Him. One of the dangers of nominal Christianity is that Jesus will come against those who practice it. This message challenges us to wake up and be the people who He has saved us and made us to be!

We live in a world and a church culture that is filled with tolerance and compromise. Most people think from a limited, worldly perspective, but Jesus holds and pure and full perspective. Furthermore, He stance is firm, pure, and immovable. As His Church we must not tolerate tolerance and we must reject compromise. We do not have to go along with the culture around us. We can hold fast and trust Jesus to sustain us! This message explores the dangers of giving way to temptation and enticement.
