Before attacking the Midianites, God told Gideon that He was going to further whittle down his army so that His power may be made even more great. Gideon did as the Lord commanded and shrunk the army down to just 300 men. Are we willing to allow God to move in our lives every day? Are we giving everything we have to God every day so that His power can be made ever more great in our lives?

The word is Trust! Before setting out to do what God had called him to do, Gideon asked the lord for signs to prove that the Lord is with him. Gideon had a lack of trust that he needed reinforced before he could do everything that the Lord had asked him to do. We have to ask ourselves, when the Lord places a calling on our lives, do we trust Him enough to lead us through it?

This morning we continue our study of the story of Gideon. Throughout this study, we have been asking the question "Are you sure, Lord?" Are you sure you can use me? Are you sure that I should be the one doing this? Are you sure that you want to choose me? We want to be hands and feet of the Lord Jesus Christ and to deny the calling that He places on us is to deny His will in our lives. May we never be believers that fall into that way of life.

We can often question if we are qualified enough or even point out that someone else is more qualified than us and would therefore be a better fit to be used by God. The story of Gideon is a powerful reminder that God will use His children in spite of their shortcomings. What we have to decide is, will we allow Him to move in our lives?
