For one hundred and sixty years, God has faithfully allowed First Baptist Church Mahan Street to stand as a living witness to the transformative power of the Gospel in the heart of Suffolk, Virginia and beyond. What began as a faithful gathering of believers in 1866 has become a sacred testimony of God’s sustaining grace across generations. Our sanctuary has echoed with prayers whispered in faith, sermons preached with conviction, songs lifted through struggle and celebration, and lives transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. By the grace of God, we now prepare to celebrate our 160th Church Anniversary this coming October with hearts filled with gratitude, humility, and holy expectation.
