When Paul announced his intention to revisit the churches in Asia Minor, Barnabas insisted on taking Mark, but Paul refused. Barnabas and Mark went to Cyprus, and Paul and Silas, one of the representatives from the church in Jerusalem, went to Syria and Cilicia where Paul invited Timothy to join them. They intended to complete a circular path through Asia Minor, but the Holy Spirit prevented them from fulfilling their plans. They were led instead to Troas where Paul received a vision from a man of Macedonia urging him to come there.
