Outpost 106

The Royal Ranger's Outpost 106 will conduct its annual Pinewood Derby race on Friday, February 21st, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Family Life Center at First Assembly of God on Thomson Highway. The race is open to all boys and girls in our community between the ages of 3 and 14. There will be 5categories:  Boys & girls ages 3-4, Boys K-2, Girls grades K-2, Boys & Girls grades 3-5, Boys & Girls grades 6-8. The top three finishers in each category will receive a trophy. There will also be a trophy for the overall winner, the best looking car and most creative car. 

The cost to enter is $0.00. (FREE)  

The night will start with dinner at 6:00 PM. Each racer is encouraged to bring an adult -- preferably the person who assisted in the building of the car. Racing will begin as soon as dinner is completed (All cars must be weighed in NLT 6:30PM). Depending on the number of racers, the racing portion should take between 1.5-2 hours. Again, the cost is $0.00 (FREE)

The only requirement is that you pre-register by filling out the bottom of the sheet and giving to a commander or dropping by the church office at First Assembly of God. Deadline for registration is February 16.

Basic specifications are as follows:

Maximum Car weight for the race is 5.5OZ.

Maximum width is 2.75”

Maximum Length is 7.5”

Maximum Height is 3.0”

Car must have 3/8” gap below body to run on our track.

No car that won a trophy in a previous Ranger derby is allowed to race again.

The track will be setup for trial runs February 16 from 5:00-7:30. I HIGHLY encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to check out your car!
