What Do You Do with the Empty Grave?

March 31, 2024 • Ed Eddingfield • John 20:1–9, John 20:26–29

On Good Friday there was a tragedy. Jesus was falsely accused, falsely tried, falsely condemned, and died an innocent man. It was more than tragic. But that tragedy was intended for good by God the Father. He had a plan to redeem mankind from its sins. He paid the price by sacrificing His Son on our behalf. The reason that day is called “Good Friday” is because it led to forgiveness and to Sunday! Not only are we able to be free from death, but we can join Jesus in LIFE! He lives! Christ Jesus has Risen! He has Risen Indeed!

Seriously Needed Help

April 28, 2024 • Ed Eddingfield • Romans 8:1–11

Has there ever been a time in your life when you seriously needed help? Perhaps you were broken down? Perhaps you were studying, and a subject proved difficult for you? Perhaps you were trying to make friends, or get rid of a friend, or it was much more serious than that? There are times in our lives when we seriously need help. Fortunately, God is the answer to His own standard! We have help in Jesus!

The Truth Will Set You Free

April 14, 2024 • Ed Eddingfield • Romans 7:14–25

Goldfish remember things for only 3 seconds… Bulls go crazy if they see red… George Washington had wooden teeth… If you swallow gum it will stay in your stomach for 7 years… We are a gullible people and believe a lot of nonsense… Only one of those statements (the opinion) is true. Goldfish can remember for months. Washington had bad teeth, but his dentures even had ivory and gold in them (and some icky stuff). Bulls are green/red colorblind and hate the movement. Gum goes right through. I do believe we are gullible. If we believe so many myths and legends, then what are we believing about our spiritual lives that isn’t proven in the Word of God? Paul refutes a few things in this week’s passage.
