It’s easy to get bitter when things don’t go our way – but is that what God wants us to do? We can either get mired in the muck of sin or we can diligently listen for God’s voice and do what is right. Much like the Israelites encounter at Marah, God promises to be our Jehovah Ropha – The Lord Your Healer- when we follow Him. In this message, we will discover our God who heals, restores, and rebuilds us.

What was Israel to be like in their relationship to God? How were they supposed to live? How could they maintain their distinctive qualities as a people related to God when they settled in a land inhabited by pagan nations who did not know God? These questions are as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago. In the book of Leviticus, we see the walk and worship of the redeemed and are first introduced to the name Jehovah Mekadesh – The God who Sanctifies. While this name often gets overlooked in the English Bible, there is no other name for God that adequately expresses His nature and the requirements He places on His people.

Jehovah Nissi - The Lord is Our Banner

Have you ever found yourself in a no-win situation? Whether it's an issue of morality, politics, or just plain common sense, as Jesus followers, we may be concerned with our options. In Exodus 17, Moses and the Israelites appear to be in a no-win situation. They wander into a land to face a formidable enemy – And God shows up! After the battle, Moses calls God Jehovah Nissi – the Lord is Our Banner. This name serves as a reminder that no matter how desperate and needy we might be – the battle always belongs to the Lord and not ourselves.
