The Forgotten God

John 14:15:31 • September 2, 2018 • Gary Brandenburg

I sometimes wonder how many Christians are ignorant of the priceless treasure that is within us. If you are a follower of Jesus, you are the container of a priceless resource. But if you are unaware of what you possess you will be condemned to live in spiritual poverty. Jesus knows His time on the earth is drawing to a close. So too is His time in the upper room with His disciples. His final instructions here in John 14:15-31 focus on the role of the Holy Spirit.

The Great (Upper Room) Commission

Many of you know of the Great Commission, the mission Jesus gives his Church just before he ascends to heaven. This morning, though, we are going to look at what I call the Great Upper Room Commission, where Jesus follows his promise of eternity with him with the call to do his work before we get there. He gives us his three landmarks of an active journey of faith on this road trip to heaven we call life.

We’re continuing in our series called Changes. Jesus is spending his last night in an upper room with his closest followers and giving them some final instructions. He knows he’s about to go away and is leaving them with some universal truths to hold on to in times of change and the uncertainty that comes with it.

Live in the Light

John 13:18-35 • August 12, 2018 • Kurt Pressler

We’re continuing in our series called Changes and taking some time as a church to consider Jesus’ final instructions to his followers before a time of significant transition. Like the disciples, we too are in a time of significant transition, and while there are plenty of things we don’t know, there are some things we can know.

John 13:1-17 • August 5, 2018 • Gary Brandenburg

"Changes." That is what we are calling a new five-week sermon series based on some crucial lessons Jesus taught His disciples in an upper room on the eve of His departure. Change was in the air and there were a few things Jesus wanted to convey during a momentous transition. As most of you know, we are in a time of significant leadership transition here at Fellowship. Next month, Kurt Pressler will become the 5th SP in our 40-year history. It is imperative that we navigate this leadership change properly so that the mission and vision of our church continues unhindered. Transitions are disruptive no matter how well you prepare for them. The most difficult part of any major change is that we just don't know what we don't know.
