One of the hot button topics of our culture right now is the question of identity. When we consider that question there are two distinct schools of thought. In one we are told we are autonomous beings who can "find themselves" and determine their own identities and life purpose. In the other we are told we are given life, identity and purpose and are free to fully explore and develop within those gifts.
