The Storms of Life

Sandy Hoskins • February 16, 2020 • Sandy Hoskins

We all experience storms in life, which are caused by a number of different factors, which include the devil, circumstances, other people, our own choices and the words we speak. Storms can distract us from the purposes of God and at times cause us to isolate ourselves. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus throughout - He will never fail us!

Psalm 133 details the goodness and pleasantness which unity brings into the church. The Psalmist makes 2 major comparisons, comparing unity to the flow of the anointing and also to the dew on Mt Hermon which nourishes and waters other regions. We are called, as followers of Jesus to keep and guard this unity, in order to experience all God's blessing in our own lives and in the lives of others.

The Season of Waiting

Advent - the antidote for an over-commercialised Christmas, is a time of preparation and waiting and is an opportunity for us to get a spiritual perspective amidst festivity and fun.

The Heart of the Matter

Sandy Hoskins • November 24, 2019 • Sandy Hoskins

Words are containers of power and have creative or destructive power. We are encouraged to examine the condition of our heart for our untamed tongue, rather than "zipping the lip". As our tongues speak from the overflow of what's in our hearts, we need to guard our hearts by taking some practical everyday truths which we can apply to our lives.

Walking in The Spirit

Sandy Hoskins • November 17, 2019 • Sandy Hoskins

Being new creatures in Christ, we have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to overcome the flesh and walk in the Spirit. As we enjoy a living relationship with God we can learn to discern and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Living in the Present

Sandy Hoskins • November 10, 2019 • Sandy Hoskins

As new creatures in Christ, we are called to forget the past, reach forward in vision and direction and live in the present being endued with power, on a day by day basis. Putting off the old man, we are to put on the new, to clothe ourselves with the inherent attributes of God.
