It’s a hard reality and one that we often don’t want to talk about, but truly everything has an end - our business, work, relationships, parenting, health, and yes, even our lives have an end. As we complete our time in the book of Acts, we have an opportunity to talk about ending well. What does it take to finish strong - to end well? As we look at Paul’s final words during his final days, there are some powerful truths to help us finish strong.

He writes: “That most basic question which God poses to each human heart is: ‘Has something or someone besides Jesus the Christ taken title to your heart’s functional trust, preoccupation, loyalty, service, fear, and delight? To whom or what do you look for life-sustaining stability, security, and http://acceptance?...what do you really want and expect [out of life]? What would [really] make you happy? What would make you an acceptable person? Where do you look for power and success?’ These questions or similar ones tease out whether we serve God or idols, whether we look for salvation from Christ or from false saviors.”

Most Christians and non-Christians don't seem to have a problem with prayer or spiritual practices connected with prayer. However, problems sometimes surface when a prayer is specifically a Christian prayer. Can we learn something about prayer from Jesus? From the early praying saints?
