How Can We Pray?

Pastor Chris Sommer

January 24, 2016

How can we pray? There are two ways to ask that question: 1. How is it possible? and 2. How do we do it? Well, as Paul tells Timothy, it is only possible because we have a mediator in Jesus Christ (1 Timothy

Rooted in Christ

January 10, 2016

Today we begin the series, Rooted. Roots have more substance than meets the eyes since, for the most part, they’re hidden. Though unseen, roots tell quite a story about the tree we see. In Colossians 2:6-7 and Ephesians 3:17-18 the Apostle Paul reminds us that through our Spirit-created faith, we are rooted in Christ. What does it mean to be rooted in Christ? The great reformer Martin Luther once said, “To progress is always to begin again.” Everyday we turn another page in the story of our lives. Too often we allow our past to control our present and future. The promise of the cross is that we can start over again today graced, forgiven, free, and filled with new hope and new promise. Why? Because the faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning (Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT) May we experience that new beginning today!
