With All My Mind

Pastor John Brunette

October 18, 2020

When Jesus was asked, "What's the greatest commandment of all?” He answered. It's this, "Love the Lord your God with ALL you heart, soul, mind, and strength. . ." This is worshipping God with ALL we are, all we have. . .ALL. Today Pastor John focuses on what it means to worship or love the Lord with ALL our mind. What's on your mind? What kind of mind do you bring into worship this day, whether you are sitting on a couch watching online or joining others in a worship community. May God open our minds to hear and understand!

SONGS:

TODAY IS THE DAY

VERSE 1
I'm casting my cares aside
I'm leaving my past behind
I'm setting my heart and mind on You Jesus
I'm reaching my hands to Yours
Believing there's so much more
Knowing that all You have in store for me is good
It's good

CHORUS 1
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
And I won't worry about tomorrow
I'm trusting in what You say
Today is the day today is the day

 VERSE 2
I'm putting my fears aside
I'm leaving my doubts behind
I'm giving my hopes and dreams to You Jesus
I'm reaching my hands to Yours
Believing there's so much more
Knowing that all You have in store for me is good
It's good

BRIDGE
I will stand upon Your truth
(I will stand upon Your truth)
And all my days I'll live for You
(All my days I'll live for You)
And I will stand upon Your truth
(I will stand upon Your truth)
And all my days I'll live for You
(All my days I'll live)

CHORUS 2
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
And I won't worry about tomorrow
I'm giving You my fears and sorrows
Where You lead me I will follow
I'm trusting in what You say
Today is the day (5X)

O PRAISE THE NAME

VERSE 1
I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds His hands His feet
My Saviour on that cursed tree

VERSE 2
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone

CHORUS
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
Oh Lord oh Lord our God

VERSE 3
Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King

VERSE 4
He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face

ALIVE & BREATHING

VERSE 1
What holds your heart
What stirs your soul
What matters come to mind
The cares you keep
The thoughts you think
It's not all wasted time
Seek and you will find

CHORUS
Joy still comes in the morning
Hope still walks with the hurting
If you're still alive and breathing
Praise the Lord
Don't stop dancing and dreaming
There's still good news worth repeating
So lift your head and keep singing
Praise the Lord

VERSE 2
The years roll by
We wonder why
We lost our way from home
Our Father finds
The child inside
We left for growing old
Awake awake awake my soul

BRIDGE
Let everything let everything
Let everything praise the Lord

BRIDGE
In the working in the waiting
Let it praise the Lord
In the blessing in the breaking
Come on praise the Lord
In the dying the rising
Let it praise the Lord
Let it praise the Lord
Praise the Lord

TAKE MY LIFE

VERSE 1
Take my life and let it be consecrated
Lord to Thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee

VERSE 2
Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my King
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee
Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect and use
Ev'ry power as You choose

CHORUS
Here am I all of me
Take my life it's all for Thee

VERSE 3
Take my will and make it Thine
It shall be no longer mine
Take my heart it is Thine own
It shall be Thy royal throne
Take my love my Lord I pour
At Your feet its treasure store
Take myself and I will be
Ever only all for Thee

OUTLINE:

Engaging All in Worship (v. 1)
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)

2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." (Exodus 20:2)

What’s On Your Mind?

• Blinded By: the devil, the world, and our own desires

3 And even if our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. (Ephesians 4:17-18)

20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (1 John 5:20)

• Built Up Through: God’s Word and community with God’s people (v. 2)

• Bold for: carrying out mission where you live, work, and play

13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:13)

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
