Ash Wednesday - Why Miracles Matter

February 14, 2024

It’s Ash Wednesday - and Valentine’s Day! It’s unique to have them fall on the same day. Tonight we’re kicking off our Lenten series of messages focusing on miracles. The importance of miracles extends beyond the historical narratives of Jesus' ministry. Miracles continue to matter as they symbolize the ongoing presence of God's transformative power in the world. We’re praying that this study of miracles will be a catalyst for faith for each of us, just as it was for those who witnessed them in the first century.

John 5:19-20

I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these.

John 6:38

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

John 10:37

If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.
