When things become too common, they can lose their significance. When we start to treat God as common, reverence for Him takes a hit. Malachi urges us not to make God too commonplace in our lives and instead to prioritize reverence for Him and a healthy fear of Him.

No More Selfishness

It's easy to slip into selfishness without even trying. We have this insatiable appetite for more and what we think will be enough. And this attitude can creep into our love for God. Malachi challenges us that the posture of the Christian is one in which God removes the impurities from our lives until He can see His reflection in us. And sometimes, the area of our lives where there is a lot of refining work to be done is money.

No More Broken Promises

The adage goes, promises are meant to be broken. That couldn't be further from the truth. However, whether intentional or not, we've all been on both sides of broken promises. We've broken our promises to God. We've broken our promises to the ones closest to us. Good news...He's never broken His promise to us.

He deserves our best worship. He deserves for us to love him with ALL of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. No more leftovers.
