Psalm 22 is quoted by Jesus upon the cross. In verse 16 we come across this weird reference to the Bulls of Bashan. The author, King David, is actually talking about spiritual warfare and cosmic geography. The Bulls of Bashan represent the hostile attack of demonic forces celebrating a victory over God as Jesus hangs from the cross. Little do the demons know that they have been used by God to complete His glorious victory over death and sin.
