Beauty Not Duty

State of the Church 2024

FAITH Worship (1/28/24): "The Mission" (Series: Beauty Not Duty)

January 28, 2024 • Pastor Tim Byer

We have confused religion and the Gospel. Religion seeks to coerce people to behave differently. The Gospel seeks to persuade people to receive a total heart transplant. There is a very big difference. One is a drudge and a duty. The other is a blessing and a beauty.

FAITH Worship (1/21/24): "The Gathering" (Series: Beauty Not Duty)

January 21, 2024 • Pastor Tim Byer • Psalm 29

We have lost the "why" reasons behind our gathering as a church. Coming together is not a "have to", but a "get to". FAITH Worship (1/14/24): "The Community" (Series: Beauty Not Duty)

January 14, 2024 • Pastor Tim Byer • 1 Corinthians 1:18–25

The body of Christ must act like the body of Christ: CRUCIFIED. To live a crucified life is a massive distraction from the expectations of all cultures on the face of the earth ... but it is infinitely more beautiful.

FAITH Worship (1/7/24): "The Way" (Series: Beauty Not Duty)

January 7, 2024 • Pastor Tim Byer • Philippians 3

We live in the first generation in the modern era that is dissatisfied with the "Because I said so" answer to the question, "Why?". That is not necessarily a bad thing. The gospel is not news that requires duty and obligation. It is an invite into the infinite beauty of the Christ.
