Too many of us base our lives on what seems or feels right. Because the "way of the cross" is diametrically opposed to our natural inclinations, we must admit that we cannot trust our feelings. We have to go to scripture. Additionally, we should approach even our interpretation of scripture with humility. Being "sure" doesn't always make us smart ... sometimes it makes us dumb.
