The Biblical model for dealing with sorrow and pain
Cry Aloud to God
July 14, 2024 • Jon Anderson • Psalm 77
How does prayer turn your heart to God when you are in the midst of deep sorrow, pain, or grief? That’s the question! How do we pray, how do we lament, in order to turn our hearts to the Lord? That is what we want to seek from this psalm.
Godly Complaint
July 28, 2024 • Jon Anderson • Psalm 10

Ask Boldly
August 4, 2024 • Jon Anderson • Psalm 22
How do we turn from godly complaint to asking boldly? How do we do that when we are still in the midst of pain and grief? I promise you when you are in the midst of pain you will not feel like asking boldly. So how do we do it anyways?
Choosing to Trust
August 11, 2024 • Jon Anderson • Psalm 13
Choosing to put our trust in Almighty God is the final destination in all our lament prayers. If we don’t end up here then we miss out on the God intended blessing of lament. How does this final step of lament— choosing to trust— how does this step bring healing to our pain and our grief? To answer this question we are going to follow the four steps of lament using Psalm 13. We will walk the various stages of this prayer with David and at the end discover the final destination of lament. And when we get there we will be able to better understand how biblical lament brings healing to our pain and our grief.
