Come Home to an Eternal Hope

Many know what it's like to feel lost or without hope. But the gospel of Jesus brings hope. Because of the birth of Jesus, we have eternal hope. 1. Hope is found in relationship with God. 2. Hope brings joy and peace. 3. Hope overflows to others. How can you bring hope home? Acknowledge the darkness. Trust in God's promises. Live in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Coming Home to a Place of Joy

Christmas invites us to discover joy - a joy that transcends circumstances. It is a joy that is rooted in the good news of Jesus' birth. Yet, true joy eludes many at Christmas. What can we discover about Christmas joy? 1. Joy comes from the good news of Jesus. 2. Joy is found in the presence of God. 3. Joy brings peace to our hearts and lives. When we discover the joy of Christmas, it will be a joy that can be constant in our life - a joy that can bring happiness in any situation.

Coming Home to the Prince of Peace

We live in a world far from peaceful. All around us, we see evidence of conflict - division, strife, brokenness in relationships, stress and anxiety. Christmas is not just about celebrating the birth of a baby. It is about recognizing that in Jesus, God has brought peace into our world. 1. Peace with God (Romans 5:1). 2. Peace within (John 14:27). 3. Peace with others (Ephesians 2:14). Peace isn't just something we wish for. Peace is something we receive through Jesus. Once we receive that peace, we are called to share it with the world.

Coming Home to the Father's Love

The story of the Prodigal Son is one of Jesus' most well-known parables. This story isn't just about a wayward son but about a loving father who is willing to forgive and restore. It teaches about our Heavenly Father's love. 1. The Son's Rebellion - choosing to leave home (v. 11-16). 2. The Son's Repentance - the journey back home (v. 17-20). 3. The Father's Rejoicing - a celebration of grace (v. 20-24). This story speaks to all of us: whether we feel far from God like the younger son, or perhaps close to God but struggling with our own resentments. The Father wants us home.
