Dear Fair Oaks family,

On behalf of the Senior Pastor Search Committee, I am pleased to announce that we have selected and are nominating Joshua Hall as the next Senior Pastor of Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church.

Josh will preach his candidating sermon at a United Worship service this Sunday, November 19 at 9am in the Worship Center, followed immediately by a congregational meeting to elect him as our next senior pastor, starting January 1.

Josh has been our Associate Pastor for Teaching and Family Ministries this past year. He has 18 years of pastoral experience, serving in a broad range of church ministry—college and youth, small groups, preaching, teaching and church planting. Prior to coming to FOPC in October 2016, Josh served as Campus Pastor in San Jose for Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. While on staff with us, Josh recently completed all requirements for ordination in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, passed written and oral exams, and was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament. He has completed all his Master of Divinity requirements (M.Div.) with Bethel Seminary and has a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from Western Seminary.

Here at FOPC Josh has led the growth of small groups and family ministries. Participation in Life Groups has increased by 50% this last year. The Youth and Children’s departments he oversees have seen significant growth in attendance and in the number of youth coming to Christ. Josh’s strong leadership skills have been evident as he has worked with elders, staff and other church leaders to further the Great Commission in the community and beyond. He has a great heart for missions and looks forward to working to win the lost in greater Sacramento and the world.

Josh is married to Kelly and they have three children: Aiden, Zoey, and Shiloh. A devoted family man, when he is not serving, Josh enjoys spending time with Kelly and attending his children’s school and sporting events. Josh examples his love of Jesus to his family and church.

God has prepared our own Pastor Josh Hall to be our Senior Pastor and to lead Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church in reaching out to the next generation with the love of Jesus and in honoring and supporting those who have built and brought the church to where it is today. We believe he is God’s candidate for our church.

Thank you for electing us to this sacred task and entrusting this thoughtful and prayerful process to us. We ask for your continued prayers for Josh, our congregation, and church as we move forward bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to our community and beyond.
