The Best Seat

March 17, 2024 • James Paton • Luke 14:1–24

Who do you invite into your home? Sharing a meal can be a visual representation of our hearts - are we humble and welcoming, like Jesus? What if the place of honour at our tables were saved for the poor, the oppressed, the lonely, or the disabled?

Be Present

March 10, 2024 • Kyle Trigg • Luke 10:38–42

Think back to the time Jesus visits Mary and Martha. Martha is distracted and anxious about the preparations. Just like Martha, we all face distractions in our lives. She slowly discovers a valuable lesson — the guest matters more than her hospitality. How can we learn to keep the ‘one thing’ that truly matters in focus?

Catering to the Crowd

March 3, 2024 • James Paton • Luke 9:10–17

What do you reach for when you’re hungry? What’s your go-to source of nourishment, physically, emotionally, and spiritually? We’re all hungry for something. Jesus wants to be our Provider and invites us to His ultimate banquet. Will we let Him be enough as He fills our lives and hearts with hope?

Making Space

February 25, 2024 • James Paton • Luke 7:36–50

When we plan a party, we often default to inviting our inner circle of friends. How often do we choose to look past the habits and hang-ups of others and include outsiders to the table? What if we intentionally welcomed the marginalized, like Jesus? Imagine if our hospitality plans made space for people beyond our comfort zone ...

Crossing Boundaries

February 18, 2024 • Kyle Trigg • Luke 7:27–39

It’s easy to enjoy food with friends or family, but what about the difficult coworkers or shady neighbours we tend to avoid? How often do we invite outsiders into the circle? Jesus crossed all sorts of boundaries so we can experience grace and acceptance. God’s grace is always on the table! Join us as we unfold the significance of meals with Jesus in this year’s Lent season.
