At the Table

FAC Southwest: Meals with Jesus - Lent 2024

This Weekend - Easter 2024

March 31, 2024 • Luke 24:36–53

Jesus is alive! Just as He promised, He came back to life – and proved it by sharing a meal in the flesh with his friends. Jesus rising from the dead is the beginning of everything being made new. We can all be a part of this new beginning if we follow Him! Join us as we celebrate Easter 2024 at all FAC campuses.

This Weekend - Open Door

March 24, 2024 • Luke 19:1–10

We all struggle with idols in our lives. What do you tend to hold onto too tightly? To Zacchaeus, money was everything! It took him opening his home – and heart – to Jesus to realize this and find freedom in Christ. Jesus is knocking; are you ready to invite Him in?

The Best Seat

March 17, 2024 • Rosalind Coben • Luke 14:1–24

Who do you invite into your home? Sharing a meal can be a visual representation of our hearts - are we humble and welcoming, like Jesus? What if the place of honour at our tables were saved for the poor, the oppressed, the lonely, or the disabled?

Be Present

March 10, 2024 • Jeff Marshall • Luke 10:38–42

Think back to the time Jesus visits Mary and Martha. Martha is distracted and anxious about the preparations. Just like Martha, we all face distractions in our lives. She slowly discovers a valuable lesson — the guest matters more than her hospitality. How can we learn to keep the ‘one thing’ that truly matters in focus?

Catering to the Crowd

March 3, 2024 • Carter Reimer • Luke 9:10–17

What do you reach for when you’re hungry? What’s your go-to source of nourishment, physically, emotionally, and spiritually? We’re all hungry for something. Jesus wants to be our Provider and invites us to His ultimate banquet. Will we let Him be enough as He fills our lives and hearts with hope?

Making Space

February 25, 2024 • Tolu Solola • Luke 7:36–50

When we plan a party, we often default to inviting our inner circle of friends. How often do we choose to look past the habits and hang-ups of others and include outsiders to the table? What if we intentionally welcomed the marginalized, like Jesus? Imagine if our hospitality plans made space for people beyond our comfort zone ...

Crossing Boundaries

February 18, 2024 • Carter Reimer • Luke 7:27–39

It’s easy to enjoy food with friends or family, but what about the difficult coworkers or shady neighbours we tend to avoid? How often do we invite outsiders into the circle? Jesus crossed all sorts of boundaries so we can experience grace and acceptance. God’s grace is always on the table! Join us as we unfold the significance of meals with Jesus in this year’s Lent season.
