As of this moment, 988 is the new three-digit calling code that will route people to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

When someone calls, texts, or chats the number, they will be connected to counselors who are trained to handle a wide range of mental health issues.

For veterans and service members, dial 988 and then press 1 to be connected to the Veterans Crisis Line.
