The sermon on Anointing > Appearance discussed how David was anointed as king of Israel, despite not fitting the typical appearance of a leader. It emphasized the importance of following God's call, even when it goes against popular opinion or societal expectations. The sermon also mentioned how Samuel asked a question that led to a better answer and how we should choose differently, not based on our own wants, but on what is most precious to Jesus.

Obedience > Sacrifice

Slingshot Series will be looking at insight's from the life of young David.
In this passage, we will examine the story that led to the life of David and why God rejected Israel's first king, Saul. Ultimately, the God of the Bible desires for those who claim to love and serve Him to actually obey Him. Saul's disobedience of God's command resulted in his rejection and the acceptance of David. This disobedience is the reason why sacrifice is even necessary. Therefore, we will examine the rejection of one king and the prerequisites for the next.
