A Better Christmas

Using the real meaning of the season to discover how to have a better Christmas.

Unexpected

Matthew 1:1-18 • December 23, 2018 • Brian Watts

As we begin to close in on Christmas, we continue our series by looking at Jesus's genealogy in Matthew 1. Here, we see a very unexpected list of people and events that don't seem to be what we would expect of a king. However, this unexpected group of people gives us hope that in our brokenness God can still welcome us into His family and use us for His grand purposes.

The Light of the World

John 1:1-18 • December 16, 2018 • Brian Watts

In week 3 of our Advent series, A Better Christmas, we turn to the beginning of another gospel, the gospel of John. Here we see John use light and darkness to show Christ's entrance into the world. What we realize is that as we grasp how dark the world truly is, we begin to realize how great a gift Jesus coming as the light of the world is this Christmas.

Don't Miss Out

Matthew 2:1-12 • December 9, 2018 • Brian Watts

As we enter the second week of our Advent series, A Better Christmas, we look closely at the witnesses to the birth story. While the Wisemen followed signs and prophecies to find Baby Jesus, many others completely missed out.

Behold

Matthew 1-2; Luke 1-2 • December 2, 2018 • Brian Watts

One of the most echoed lines of the beginning of the Christmas story in the gospels is the simple word, "behold". In this word we find an important story being uttered and one that we cannot miss this season!
