Generosity was a hallmark of the early church. In fact, there were no needy people among early followers of Jesus because they gave radically to meet the needs of others. Sometimes giving gets a bad reputation in churches because people feel guilted into it. But giving was never about guilt; it was about gratitude. And when we understand that, we can excel in generous giving.
