TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS As a review of the whole passage, read Ephesians 6:10-17. What is God’s Word saying to you in this passage? What have you learned? What sticks out? What has helped you? Discuss the sword of the Spirit. Why is this such a critical piece in the armor of God? What does it do for you? What does it protect you from? How is it an offensive weapon? Name one situation/ trial you are going through currently in life right now, and discuss HOW you can apply the Word of God to that situation (Ps. 119:105). Have the group share specific Bible verses that can be applied to each person’s circumstances. Read Matthew 4:1-11. Break down the 3 temptations Jesus faced, and how they are similar to things we face on a daily basis. Discuss how Jesus responded to each temptation. How is the Sword of the Spirit (God’s Word) useful to you? (There’s dozens and dozens of answers- have each person in the group share at least one!) As we have gone through each of the 6 pieces in the armor of God (belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the Gospel of peace, helmet of salvation, shield of faith, and sword of the Spirit)… have each group member pick one of those items that they would like prayer for in this upcoming season.

TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS Read Ephesians 6:13-17. What is God’s Word saying to you in this verse? What is God’s heart for His people? Discuss the helmet of salvation. Why is this such a critical piece in the armor of God? What does it do for you? What does it protect you from? What are some of the lies over your life that have an uninvited place in your mind? (For example: you don’t matter, no one cares, you’ll never change, you’re inadequate, you have to prove yourself, your past defines you, you’re no good or unlovable…) What is a Biblical worldview? And how can you strengthen yours? (Hint: It’s more than just reading the Bible) Read 1 John 3:1-2. If you understand who and whose you are, how should that change your life, decisions, and outlook on life? What are some practical ways you can cultivate and nurture a Godly mindset in life? Pick someone in your group to close in prayer. They should pray for everyone to put on the helmet of salvation, to remember who/ whose we are, and to all have Godly mindsets this week!

TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS Read Ephesians 6:15 and Isaiah 52:7. What is God’s Word saying to you in this verse? What is God’s heart for His people? What is the Gospel of Peace? How would you explain “the Gospel” to an unbeliever? Powerful exercise: Have a few people in the group try to explain the Gospel in less than a minute. What are a few examples of how we “dumb-down,” water down, cheapen, or simplify the Gospel, in a way that makes the Gospel lose its power? How should the “Gospel of Peace” change your daily life? What’s the hardest thing about sharing the Gospel with people? So far, we’ve discussed the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the shoes of peace. Share with the group one practical example of how you can “put on” and use each of these 3 pieces of spiritual armor. Who is one person in your life that you’d like to share the Gospel with? And as you close in prayer, pray for this person, and ask God to give you opportunity, grace, kindness, truth, timing, and boldness to share with them.

TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS Read Ephesians 6:12. What is God’s Word saying to you in this verse? What is God’s heart for His people? How would you “Biblically” describe or explain the rulers, authorities, cosmic powers, and spiritual forces of evil in the present darkness we face in life? How would you explain it to someone that has never heard of those things? In “wrestling with the spiritual forces of darkness,” what steps can a believer take to move toward victory? satan is described as an adversary, accuser, and a deceiver. Discuss how you see the enemy acting out and doing all 3 of those adjectives in the lives of believers. What makes God stronger than satan? Read James 4:7 and 1 Peter 5:8-9. What should our approach to fighting the devil be? What things should you be aware of, and what things should you actively do? Close with reading Eph. 1:19-23, and thank God for how powerful and triumphant He is over all evil forces. Our God reigns!

TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS Before digging into God’s Word… Catch up with each other. Have each person share: - a pit (something painful or tough), - a peak (one of the best things in their life), - a praise (anything they are thankful for and can praise God for, that they’ve had in these past couple of months). **Note: Although today’s discussion is specific about husbands and wives, ALL principles of loving and submitting to one another are for ALL individuals- that we can ALL grow in! Read Ephesians 5:22-33. What is God’s Word saying to you in this verse? What is God’s heart for His people? Describe the difference between the world’s and God’s definition, of submission. What is “headship?” Why do you think God set up the idea of headship? Read Col. 1:18, 1 Cor. 11:3, and Eph. 5:23 Ladies answer: How can a wife respect a husband who doesn’t deserve it? And guys answer: How can a husband love a wife who doesn’t deserve it? What are some ways a man should love and serve his wife? And what are some things that a man should NOT do, that would make a wife feel unloved? What are some ways a woman should respect and submit to her husband? And what are some things that a woman should NOT do, that would make a husband feel disrespected?
