TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS

Read Ephesians 1:15-17. What is God’s Word saying to you in this passage? What is God’s heart for His people?

Discuss what “the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him” means (from verse 17). What is it? Who gives it? What does it do? What does it produce? How should you seek it? Why is it important?

What are the best ways we can get to know God better?

What would you say to someone that says it’s too difficult to understand or know God?

How can a Christian, who is in a habit of complaining, develop a thankful heart in all things?

What is one or two practical ways in which we can develop and maintain a passion to know God?

Like Paul says in verses 15 and 16, who are a couple people in your life that you can commit to praying for? What kinds of things should you specifically be praying for them about?

Close in prayer by asking Almighty God to give us a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him… and that we would all get to know Him deeper.

TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS As a review of the whole passage, read Ephesians 6:10-17. What is God’s Word saying to you in this passage? What have you learned? What sticks out? What has helped you? Discuss the sword of the Spirit. Why is this such a critical piece in the armor of God? What does it do for you? What does it protect you from? How is it an offensive weapon? Name one situation/ trial you are going through currently in life right now, and discuss HOW you can apply the Word of God to that situation (Ps. 119:105). Have the group share specific Bible verses that can be applied to each person’s circumstances. Read Matthew 4:1-11. Break down the 3 temptations Jesus faced, and how they are similar to things we face on a daily basis. Discuss how Jesus responded to each temptation. How is the Sword of the Spirit (God’s Word) useful to you? (There’s dozens and dozens of answers- have each person in the group share at least one!) As we have gone through each of the 6 pieces in the armor of God (belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the Gospel of peace, helmet of salvation, shield of faith, and sword of the Spirit)… have each group member pick one of those items that they would like prayer for in this upcoming season.
