HOME DEVOTIONAL QUESTIONS

Read Matthew 8:23-27. What is God’s Word saying to you in this passage? What is God’s heart for His people?

What factors contributed to the disciples being afraid? What factors contribute to YOU being scared?

Go back and read the first 22 verses of Matthew 8. List all the things that Jesus did and experienced with His disciples right before they all got in the boat. Why is it odd after reading all of the things Jesus did, that the disciples were so scared of the storm?

At the end of verse 24, it says that Jesus was asleep while the disciples thought they were going to die. In what circumstances or situations in your life does it seem like Jesus is sleeping (or absent)?

How do we invest into fear? How do we get rooted into faith?

Make a list (actually write these down in bullet point form) of all the specific things that you know God is in charge of, and in control of.
