Learn Christ

TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS

Thoughts to Consider:
What does to “learn Christ” mean to you?

Learning Christ is a lifelong process. Discuss the keys to make it happen?

What are some things from the old self (the former life) you need to take off, put out, remove from your thought closet?

What are some things you need to or would like to put in, add, or hang in your thought closet?

What are some ways you can take action to “learn Christ”?

Choose one of the above actions and commit to be faithful to that choice. If possible, find an accountability partner to help.

TOGETHER GROUP QUESTIONS As a review of the whole passage, read Ephesians 6:10-17. What is God’s Word saying to you in this passage? What have you learned? What sticks out? What has helped you? Discuss the sword of the Spirit. Why is this such a critical piece in the armor of God? What does it do for you? What does it protect you from? How is it an offensive weapon? Name one situation/ trial you are going through currently in life right now, and discuss HOW you can apply the Word of God to that situation (Ps. 119:105). Have the group share specific Bible verses that can be applied to each person’s circumstances. Read Matthew 4:1-11. Break down the 3 temptations Jesus faced, and how they are similar to things we face on a daily basis. Discuss how Jesus responded to each temptation. How is the Sword of the Spirit (God’s Word) useful to you? (There’s dozens and dozens of answers- have each person in the group share at least one!) As we have gone through each of the 6 pieces in the armor of God (belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the Gospel of peace, helmet of salvation, shield of faith, and sword of the Spirit)… have each group member pick one of those items that they would like prayer for in this upcoming season.
