Good Friday - The Cross Reveals
April 7, 2023 • Pastor Aaron Peterson • Psalm 22:16–18, Psalm 22:24, Matthew 27:45–50, Psalm 22:1
Message: Good Friday The Cross Reveals Speaker: Aaron Peterson 4/07/2023 7pm The Cross is one of the most mysterious and misunderstood pieces of the Christian faith. Not because of its obscurity, but because it’s nearly impossible for us to overestimate the significance of a God who dies for His creation. Many traditions even hold that the Cross is the starting point of all of creation! A clear picture of God begins with a clear understanding of the Cross. Intimacy with God is either bolstered or reduced in our lens. It is THAT important. Join Pastor Aaron for a deep dive into the significance of what Christ accomplished, and what He DID NOT experience on that tree 2000 years ago. Scripture says “by faith and PATIENCE we inherit His promises to us. But He’s also in the waiting. In Part 19 of our “Fundamentals” series, Ryan Kibbe shares how He wants us to wait. June 26, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Psalm 78:40–42, Mark 6:45–47, Matthew 14:24, Mark 6:48–49, John 3:34
Message: Fundamentals - Part 17 Without Limit Speaker: Ryan Kibbe 06/26/2022 Sunday Service: 9:00 am An infinite, extraordinary, supernatural miracle-working God chose to live among us and with us as one of us. Jesus! The Bible says that Jesus put aside His divine privileges and lived within the “limits” of humanity. And yet, as God consistently lived beyond the ordinary limits to do extraordinary things, empowered by the Holy Spirit. As Ryan Kibbe explains in part 17 of our “Fundamentals” series, “Without Limits” isn’t just a nifty sermon title or catch phrase. It’s an inheritance we receive when we receive Him! Our lives were never intended to be lived solely on what we can do, but what He can do through me and through you! We become something more. Like Jesus! Fundamentals - Walking Out Of Pain - Part 5
May 6, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Psalm 30:5, 1 Timothy 1:18, Romans 8:28, Jeremiah 29:11
Remember God promises and His testimonies. Use the prophecies that are spoken over you to fight your way out of tough seasons. 1 Timothy 1:18 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight. Remember that everything will work out for your benefit. Romans 8:28 We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. God is for you and has a plan for your welfare. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. This season won’t last…don’t get stuck in mourning. Psalms 30:5 … Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. Action Step: Chronicle your progress this week. Look at where you’ve come in 5 days. Do a check-up from the neck-up 30 days from now and see if that trauma/pain looks different?
Fundamentals - Walking Out Of Pain - Part 2
May 2, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Psalm 42:5, Psalm 43:5, Luke 5:31, Proverbs 18:14
1. Trust God 2. Discover the source of your pain! Nehemiah surveyed the problem. So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days. 12 And I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I did not tell anyone what my God was putting into my mind to do for Jerusalem and there was no animal with me except the animal on which I was riding. 13 So I went out at night by the Valley Gate in the direction of the Dragon’s Well and on to the Refuse Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were consumed by fire. 14 Then I passed on to the Fountain Gate and the King’s Pool, but there was no place for my mount to pass. 15 So I went up at night by the ravine and inspected the wall. Then I entered the Valley Gate again and returned. 16 The officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done; nor had I as yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials or the rest who did the work. Talk to your soul Psalms 42:5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence. King David spoke to his soul. Psalms 43:5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Point: Sometimes an over reaction to something someone says or does is a sign of pain in our soul. It may be point to a place that needs healing in you. Go to a doctor or counselor to discover your problem. Luke 5:31 Jesus answered and said to them, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. Physical sickness is often rooted in spiritual realities. Proverbs 18:14 The spirit of a man can endure his sickness, but as for a broken spirit who can bear it? Question To Ponder: ● What is the source of your pain that He is ‘bubbling’ to the surface? He heals what He reveals!
Fundamentals - Walking Out Of Pain - Part 1
May 2, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Psalm 50:15, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Psalm 147:3, James 1:2, Psalm 9:9
Psalm 147:3 AMP He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows]. Understanding Pain 1. It’s rarely “The Problem” and almost always the symptom. 2. It will lead you to the problem’s source. 3. The level of pain doesn’t necessarily determine the depth of your problem. 4. Ignoring pain or avoid it leads to deeper problems. STEP ONE - WALKING OUT OF PAIN ● Trust God. ● James 1:2 NASB Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. ● God is a great place to hide. ● Psalms 9:9 The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. ● He promises to rescue us when we are in trouble. ● Psalms 50:15 ● Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.” ● God has a plan to get you through this, not around it. ● 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. Question To Ponder: ● Have you lived so long with your pain, that your pain has become a part of you? Are you willing to submit this area of your life to Him, even if it’s a current mystery?
Fundamentals - Seven People You Cannot Help - Part 5
April 15, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Psalm 119:67, Psalm 34:18
YOU CAN’T HELP SOMEONE WHO HASN’T BEEN BROKEN, WRONGED, TASTED FAILURE OR BEEN WRONG! · The prodigal son. Dad didn’t chase the prodigal kid or send care packages! · A lot of parents are enablers. STOP IT! · It allows them to http://change...let IT GO! Psalm 119:67 NLT I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word. Psalm 34:18 NLT The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed. ● Often people want the reward without going through the pain or the process. ● Encourage people to push through the pain because there is purpose in the pain and the process! ● Failure isn’t final! Failure is the seedbed of future greatness! Questions To Ponder: ● Where have you provided ‘unsanctified mercy?’ ● What do you need to look for in people to mentor or be mentored by in failure?
Fundamentals - Seven People You Cannot Help - Part 1
April 11, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • 1 Corinthians 15:33, Psalm 1:1
YOU CAN’T HELP PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO DISCONNECT THEMSELVES FROM THE WRONG PEOPLE. 1 Corinthians 15:33 NASB Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Psalm 1:1 NASB Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! · Jesus loved the rich young ruler---he gave him instruction but the man didn’t heed it. So what did Jesus do? HE KEPT ON WALKING. · Abram and Lot. Lot had to be dealt with. When Lot was lifted, then God told Abram to look up at the promised land. There are LOT’S in our lives who need to seek excellence elsewhere. Questions To Ponder: ● Since we cannot fix people, our role is to help them, not enable them. Do they want HELP or relief?
