Fundamentals - Who Do You Think You Are?

May 13, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Matthew 6:22, John 5:22, John 3:17, John 8:15, 2 Corinthians 5:16

Matthew 6:22 (NASB) “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 1. Let go of who we THINK we are, to see who we TRULY ARE! 2. The elephant in the room: a. What we THINK AND SAY b. What we actually experience and the disconnect between the two realities 3. We are COMPLETE IN HIM.. Our IDENTITY IS http://superman...not the earthen Clark Kent vessel that is fading away! ● To be fully aligned is to awaken to our true identity! ● I remember WHO I AM by surrendering who I am not! ● We need to SEE AS HE SEES….not as WE SEE???? ● If I am filled with judgment, it will cloud my lens and how I see.. John 5:22 (NKJV) 22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, John 5:45 45 “Yet it isn’t I who will accuse you before the Father. Moses will accuse you! John 3:17 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him John 8:15 15 You judge according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone. 2 Corinthians 5:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 16 Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; WHAT i believe about myself--and you --- IN THIS WORLD DETERMINES THE EXPERIENCE i WILL HAVE IN THIS WORLD… I will manifest the world I am most aware of. Fear or love? · AS HE IS SO AM I IN THIS WORLD!!! · WE LIVE LIKE JESUS IN THIS WORLD... HE'S IN http://us...of COURSE WE CAN.. · JESUS IS OUR http://model...he IS THE STANDARD.... · http://everything....everything...not JUST SOME OF http://him...all OF HIM!! · ALL OF HIM, GETS ALL OF ME!! · I’m on the earth to follow Him, to manifest Him, live what He lives, to follow Him by the power of His Spirit. Your concept of http://god...the Father will leak out THE FATHER IS NOT DISAPPOINTED IN ME!!! 1. The flesh LOVES GRIEVANCE and is ADDICTED TO NEGATIVITY….it feeds on it for survival 2. SURRENDER THAT LIE… We must confront our love affair for punishment: ● The punishment of others who fail ● The punishment of ourselves who fail Jesus told his disciples that authority works differently in the kingdom. On earth leaders try to scare people into obedience. In the kingdom, we serve people into relationship. FREEDOM-DONT GO BACK TO A PUNISHMENT MENTALITY Prioritizing rules OVER RELATIONSHIP creates religion AND REBELLION Prioritizing our relationships cultivates love. Rules do not cultivate love. When law is high, love is low! EXAMPLE: IRS ACTIVATION: SURRENDER THE FALSE IDENTITIES!!!

Fundamentals - Unpunishable - Part 1

May 12, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • 1 John 4:16–19

1 John 4:16-19 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19 We love, because He first loved us. ● We KNOW - it means we experience and believe from experience of His love! Example: AMYGDALA ● It reacts to anger, fear, avoidance, defenstiveness. ● It prompts the release of adrenaline. ● When it GETS HIJACKED because of something in your ENVIRONMENT. The response is to protect! FIGHT OR FLIGHT.... ● When you are heightened, under http://duress....you begin to fight for your life!!! ● This is temporary to things that threaten us..... ● You DON’T want to live under constant duress. ● Our senses are designed to locate danger, not live in constant hostile environments at home, work, and relationships. ● I WILL ADOPT A fear reaction anytime I make the issue at hand larger in my mind than the reality of my God. HOW YOU VIEW GOD - -MATTERS!!! God is in a good mood! He is not threatened, so we don’t have to live threatened either. 1. Punishment is a form of control 2. Intimidation - fear of punishment - is often motivated by my desire to control you 3. If this is a tool in my parenting - I will hurt you if you don’t let me control you. 4. We can have an expectation and template that God does the same thing 5. When we get out there and break all of His rules - that is confusing? 6. Maybe He didn’t see that? LOVE PROTECTS HEART CONNECTION ● I can now shift to - this relationship with Him is held together by the way I manage the relationship to protect our relationship If I manage myself to avoid HIS PUNISHMENTS - I am learning SELF-PRESERVATION - I am not learning love!!! ● I am learning how to manipulate God and protect myself by learning the rules = like a good politician or lawyer - manipulate the system ---- ● The one who fears is not mature in love -- ● As long as I am steering my life ---to avoid PUNISHMENT --i REALLY stay very immature in my love..I’ll have lots of rules and painful consequences ● The Great Lie: ○ You need to be controlled We cannot BE who we are, unless we SEE who we are, stripped of the LIES that blind us. Question to Ponder: Where are you under the influence of ‘control’ because of ‘fear?

ELEAZAR—STOOD HIS GROUND AND SWANG THAT SWORD AND WRECKED HAVOC!!! · He studied – practiced with that sword · Knew every inch of the blade · Sharpened it---worked with it... · It was already an extension of him BEFORE THE BATTLE BEGAN.... ELEAZAR’S VICTORY was decisive---OTHER’S Picked up the spoils.... ELEAZAR WAS WEARY.... but God gave him the victory....... THE BIBLE says that THE WORD OF GOD is a WEAPON......A SWORD...... May 10, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • 1 Chronicles 11:22–23

1 Chronicles 11:22-23 New King James Version (NKJV) 22 Benaiah was the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man from Kabzeel, who had done many deeds. He had killed two lion-like heroes of Moab. He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day. 23 And he killed an Egyptian, a man of great height, five cubits tall. In the Egyptian’s hand there was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, wrested the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear. FACTS ABOUT BENAIAH: ● He was a SPECIAL FORCES ops-guy ● He was in the top 5 soldiers in all of Israel ● Led 24-thousand men--- ● BUT http://above..we read HIS RESUME..... ● In every http://instance...the ODDS WERE STACKED AGAINST HIM!! 1. Benaiah took on THE ELITE OF THE ENEMY –-- ▪ Then destroys an Egyptian Giant ▪ And then THE LION 2. Benaiah Chased DOWN A LION into the pit on a snowy day!!! Lion Facts: ● A Lions paw swipe will CRUSH a human skull ● A Lion can kill you with a DEATH BITE ● Benaiah went into a SNOWY PIT---against a CORNERED LION---and WON!!!! ● Benaiah HAD THE ODDS AGAINST http://him...and WON!!!!! Key Thing: ● Benaiah was the SON OF A VALIANT http://man...it means he had BEEN TRAINED FOR COURAGE...... ● Benaiah was TRAINED FOR BATTLES.... ● YOU NEED TRAINING TOO!!!! NORMAL PEOPLE DON’T DO THIS!!! ● Normal people don’t face their fears. ● Normal people don’t chase lions ● Normal people die with all sorts of regrets. ● Normal people don’t inspire people. ● Normal people don’t TAKE RISKS!!!! DON’T BE NORMAL!!!---BE A LION CHASER... ● Lions are there ● Lions are ferocious when cornered ● Lions need to be dealt with ● There is an element of risk in CHASING YOUR LIONS ● Stumbles happen, what do you do when it does? Our greatest regret at the end of our lives will be the lions ---we didn’t chase!!!! QUESTION TO PONDER: ● Courage without training is unwise. ‘I’m not ready’ is not an excuse either. Who or what is God calling you to partner with to go after and chase the lion He’s called you to face?

May 9, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • 2 Timothy 1:7

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Phobias ● Over 2000 known fears ● Most of them are learned behavior ● Only 2 of them are in-http://born...fear of falling and a fear of loud noises ● A PHOBIA is a type of fear---an irrational fear that is held despite contradictory evidence. Examples of Phobias: Technophobia – the fear of technology, especially computers Nomophobia – the fear of being out of mobile phone contact Chionophobia: the fear of snow Pteronophobia – The fear of being TICKLED by FEATHERS Ablutophobia- the fear of BATHING Homilophobia- The fear of SERMONS Tormenting, paralyzing FEAR IS NOT OF GOD!!!--- Fear of falling off a cliff---if you are close to it is a healthy fear! Fear of the Lord—a healthy respect for His place in your life—is a good fear! THE CHIK-FILA STORY: ● Truett Cathy: 1. Founded Chik-fi-LA in 1967 in a shopping mall in Georgia 2. Passed on a chance to be a part of the KFC http://chain...why? 3. Didn’t want to open a shop on Sundays!!—KFC would have forced http://that.....he FACED A CROSS-ROAD 4. Cathy was a DEVOUT Christian who simply wanted his employees to honor God 5. He walked away from millions in potential lost revenue sales on SUNDAY..... 6. Over 1500 franchises later in nearly 40 states.... 7. It’s a 3.5 BILLION DOLLAR EMPIRE 8. He FUNDED Bibles for every public school in Georgia!!! 9. TRUETT CATHY---RISKED IT!!!! The Two Fears Pachad is “the fear of projected or imagined things. It is the over-reactive, irrational fear that stems from worries about what could happen, about the worse case scenario that we imagine.” Yirah, on the other hand, is “the fear that overcomes us when we suddenly find ourselves in possession of considerably more energy than we are used to, inhabiting a larger space than we are used to inhabiting. It is also the feeling we feel when we are on sacred ground.” Question To Ponder: ● Have you reduced any specific area of your life to accommodate your fear? Are you willing to challenge that fear by confronting it?

Fundamentals - Walking Out Of Pain - Part 5

May 6, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Psalm 30:5, 1 Timothy 1:18, Romans 8:28, Jeremiah 29:11

Remember God promises and His testimonies. Use the prophecies that are spoken over you to fight your way out of tough seasons. 1 Timothy 1:18 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight. Remember that everything will work out for your benefit. Romans 8:28 We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. God is for you and has a plan for your welfare. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. This season won’t last…don’t get stuck in mourning. Psalms 30:5 … Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. Action Step: Chronicle your progress this week. Look at where you’ve come in 5 days. Do a check-up from the neck-up 30 days from now and see if that trauma/pain looks different?

Fundamentals - Walking Out Of Pain - Part 4

May 5, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Matthew 5:4, Romans 12:15, Matthew 11:17, Joshua 1:6

Develop a plan to get well. Mourning is the path to promise land. Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Don’t be afraid to mourn. Mourning is the process of being comforted. Point: In America we don’t do pain so we think it is our job to get people out of it instead through it. Find people who can listen and understand you. Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Remember there are seasons of mourning. Matthew 11:17 ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn Get a grip. Joshua 1:6 “ Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. ” ● Don’t let your emotions tell you what to do. ● You tell yourself how to feel. ● You are not powerless even though it may feel like you are. ● Control your thoughts; don’t let them control you. The ability to control myself is the fruit of the Spirit working in your life. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. The relationship between forgiveness and pain: ● Forgiving somebody who harmed you will release you to recover from pain but forgiveness, in itself, will not take away the pain. ● The process of forgiveness and the process of becoming pain-free are two separate things. In other words, just because I forgive someone does not mean that I don’t feel pain when they’re around. ● Example: If somebody ran me over with a car and broke both my legs and I forgive them, I will still have to go through the painful process of getting well. The fact that my legs still hurt does not mean that I haven’t forgiven them. It does mean that the process of healing is not complete. Questions To Ponder: Have you confused the pain and trauma you’ve experienced with unforgiveness? Who are people who will ‘account for your ability’ to pursue a plan to walk out of pain?

Fundamentals - Walking Out Of Pain - Part 3

STERILIZE THE HOSPITAL Develop a culture of wholeness around you. Avoid sad/depressive music or watch sad/depressive movies when you are processing through your pain. Proverbs 25:20 Like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar on soda, is he who sings songs to a troubled heart. Stay away from negative people when you are in process of being restored. Proverbs 25:19 Like a bad tooth and an unsteady foot is confidence in a faithless man in time of trouble. Be careful what you watch. Whatever has your attention can get your affection. Lamentations 3:51 My eyes bring pain to my soul because of all the daughters of my city. Fill your days with laughter. Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. ● Funny movies and funny people are healing to you. Take care of your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? ● Get plenty of sleep, sunlight and nutrition Make sure the needs of your soul are being met 3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. The relationship between soul and spirit: Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Point: In certain religious circles it is common spiritualize our lives by denying our human appetites and needs. If I believe that my soul is inherently evil and then I will repress or suppress the needs and affections of my soul, which ultimately leads to sickness, weakness and ultimately death. Here are a few of the most common human necessities that are often thought of as wrong or worldly. Our soul needs: Affection, attention, love, a sense of significance, relationships etc… Temptation is NOT sin. Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. ● I am NOT defined by the temptation I resist. ● I am defined by the virtues I embrace. I am most often tempted by something I have a natural appetite for. Luke 4:1 ● Jesus was hungry when He was tempted to make stones bread. The goal of our Christian life is that our spirit would manage our appetites. When we deny that we have these basic human needs, we develop no plan or process to manage our appetite and our affections. Questions To Ponder: Have you mistaken temptation for sin? Are you providing soul care for yourself?

Fundamentals - Walking Out Of Pain - Part 2

May 2, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Psalm 42:5, Psalm 43:5, Luke 5:31, Proverbs 18:14

1. Trust God 2. Discover the source of your pain! Nehemiah surveyed the problem. So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days. 12 And I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I did not tell anyone what my God was putting into my mind to do for Jerusalem and there was no animal with me except the animal on which I was riding. 13 So I went out at night by the Valley Gate in the direction of the Dragon’s Well and on to the Refuse Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were consumed by fire. 14 Then I passed on to the Fountain Gate and the King’s Pool, but there was no place for my mount to pass. 15 So I went up at night by the ravine and inspected the wall. Then I entered the Valley Gate again and returned. 16 The officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done; nor had I as yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials or the rest who did the work. Talk to your soul Psalms 42:5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence. King David spoke to his soul. Psalms 43:5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Point: Sometimes an over reaction to something someone says or does is a sign of pain in our soul. It may be point to a place that needs healing in you. Go to a doctor or counselor to discover your problem. Luke 5:31 Jesus answered and said to them, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. Physical sickness is often rooted in spiritual realities. Proverbs 18:14 The spirit of a man can endure his sickness, but as for a broken spirit who can bear it? Question To Ponder: ● What is the source of your pain that He is ‘bubbling’ to the surface? He heals what He reveals!

Psalm 147:3 AMP He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows]. Understanding Pain 1. It’s rarely “The Problem” and almost always the symptom. 2. It will lead you to the problem’s source. 3. The level of pain doesn’t necessarily determine the depth of your problem. 4. Ignoring pain or avoid it leads to deeper problems. STEP ONE - WALKING OUT OF PAIN ● Trust God. ● James 1:2 NASB Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. ● God is a great place to hide. ● Psalms 9:9 The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. ● He promises to rescue us when we are in trouble. ● Psalms 50:15 ● Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.” ● God has a plan to get you through this, not around it. ● 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. Question To Ponder: ● Have you lived so long with your pain, that your pain has become a part of you? Are you willing to submit this area of your life to Him, even if it’s a current mystery?

Fundamental Leadership - The Sum of Successful Habits

April 29, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe • Daniel 6:28, Daniel 6:16, Daniel 6:10

Successful Leaders Do Ordinary Things Extraordinarily Well Example: Daniel - Distinguished himself with an ‘extraordinary spirit’ ● Daniel is an ‘influencer.’ ● He is principled. ● Non-achievers become jealous of Daniel because they wanted his status without Daniel’s character, competency, consistency and capacity. ● His haters leverage the King’s ego against Daniel’s prayer habits. ● Let’s get the King to sign a decree that everyone worships him. ● Daniel has seen this movie http://before...he’s seen it played out before… ● This is nothing http://new...it’s the same scenario with a different king… Daniel 6:10 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 10 Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously. Daniel 6:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 16 Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions’ den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you.” ● And god Does!! Daniel 6:28 New American Standard Bible (NASB) So this Daniel enjoyed success in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. ● Daniel wasn’t driven by success. If he was, he would not have made it past the lions’ den because he would have compromised. ● He was driven to serve God and others. ● GOD ISN’T TESTING you so He can see what you’ll do. He already knows what you’ll do. ● GOD IS TESTING YOU SO THAT YOU CAN SEE WHAT’S ACTUALLY IN YOU!! Questions to Ponder: ● How can you start cultivating a lifestyle of consistency that you can lean on in times of testing? ● Where does Daniel’s story currently reflect yours?

Fundamental Leadership - Defining Moments

April 28, 2022 • Ryan Kibbe

Defining Moments Reveal Your Core Values Daniel 1:6-9 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 6 Now among them from the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 Then the commander of the officials assigned new names to them; and to Daniel he assigned the name Belteshazzar, to Hananiah Shadrach, to Mishael Meshach and to Azariah Abed-nego. 8 But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself. 9 Now God granted Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the commander of the officials… Daniel 1:12 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 12 “Please test your servants for ten days, and let us be given some vegetables to eat and water to drink. Daniel 1:14 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 14 So he listened to them in this matter and tested them for ten days. Daniel 1:18-20 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 18 Then at the end of the days which the king had specified for presenting them, the commander of the officials presented them before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king talked with them, and out of them all not one was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s personal service. 20 As for every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and conjurers who were in all his realm. 1. On the other side of pressure, there is promotion. 2. Defining moments create spiritual momentum. 3. The moments that seem hell-bent on destroying you are the moments God uses to distinguish you. THINK ABOUT IT: ● What do you do when your dreams, and your lifestyle are disrupted so much that you feel like a captive ? ● Governmental circumstances surround me out of my control --- and do I feel captive by it? ● How do I respond? There are so many little moments to navigate - you don’t always know what later becomes a defining moment… ● It’s often as we look back, we see God at work in our lives just like Jesus! UNDERWATER TIRE ---EXAMPLE - UNDER PRESSURE ● PRESSURE --- Tests underwater reveal the holes in a tube as air pockets flow through - it is how it’s tested… ● PRESSURE reveals you and your core values! ● There was no situational ethics here. Daniel had his core values in tact! THEY CALL ME NAMES ● How would you respond when people call you names -- they don’t see you -- ● they don’t acknowledge you -- and they put stuff on you that isn’t true --- ● How do you handle that? What Daniel Did: ● Danel and his friends could have: ○ Balked ○ Raised a social media stink about it ○ Got in the face of the immediate commander ○ Told him off and Daniel would have gotten his head chopped off and our story would end there HOW YOU CHALLENGE IS AS IMPORTANT AS WHEN YOU CHALLENGE! Questions to Ponder: ● Was Daniel in survival mode? ● Was he compromising to save his life? ● Or was he using wisdom to pick the right battles?

Or if only we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why has the LORD brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt? Numbers 14:24 (NKJV) 24 But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it. ● The land god gives you to survey will always provide options for 2 reports! ● Caleb waits 45 years to inherit his mountain! ● There is preparation in proportion to influence! ● You will have enemies to defeat. In you and around you! The Caleb Generation understands: 1. The language of the wilderness is complaining and murmuring. 2. The language of the promised land is conquering and possessing. 3. They will reflect the world they are most aware of. Question To Ponder: ● What influences you? The wilderness or the promised land?

Fundamental Leadership - Agent Of Change

Nehemiah - The Agent Of Change Nehemiah 2:20 (NKJV) 20 “The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build…” Nehemiah 4:7-10; New King James Version (NKJV) 7 Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry, 8 and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion.9 Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night. 10 Then Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is failing, and there is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall.” Nehemiah 4:14 (AMP) 14 I looked [them over] and rose up and said to the nobles and officials and the other people, Do not be afraid of the enemy; [earnestly] remember the Lord and imprint Him [on your minds], great and terrible, and take from Him courage to fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes. Nehemiah 6:15-16 (NKJV) 15 So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in fifty-two days.16 And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God. ● THREE REACTIONS TO CHANGE: ○ Critics - will always be the loudest ■ Loudest boos always come from the cheapest seats! ■ Just because they are the loudest aren’t necessarily the most important! ○ Bystanders - neutral, for now. ○ Advocates - on board and raring to go! What the does the WHY do to the reactions? 1. Disarms the critics a. Clearly presented why will often disarm the critics and may convert to believers 2. Educates the bystanders a. They might move the mission forward….i see why this difficulty to something better 3. Advocates a. Your ‘Why” empowers the advocates and language and data and stats to come alongside and lead others through the struggle. Questions To Ponder: ● What part of Nehemiah’s journey most currently reflect yours? ● What is the Lord asking you to do about it?

Isaiah 43:18-19 NASB “Do not call to mind the former things, Or consider things of the past. Behold, I am going to do something new, Now it will spring up; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. ● A leader's boundaries and lids will determine the thought life of those around them. ● Example: Jesus-He had no lid-He taught His disciples to think in a way that was impossible. ● Leaders foster environments to empower people to innovate and create and think differently to every situation. ● Example: APPLE and Steve Jobs-IPOD--Jobs rejected conventional thinking about how consumers would buy music. ● One of the main problems leaders face in the teams they lead is to properly address and spot negative thinking and set boundaries that reinforce what can be done, not what can't be done.. ● What leaders create and what they allow is what leaders get. Especially thinking. ● The science: Anticipation of a good outcome produces dopamine which awakens the brain to productivity, fostering new ideas and grappling with hard problems. It challenges learned helplessness! Question To Ponder: ● What are the obstacles that are in your path that can become opportunities? Take a moment today to reflect on some of those challenges, and how you can challenge ‘learned hopelessness.”
