Learning to Embrace the Lonely Place

August 2, 2020 • Pastor Thomas-Steele

Have you ever felt alone? Disconnected? Surrounded by people, yet isolated somehow? Technology has made us more connected than ever, yet, studies increasingly show that we are lonelier than ever. And with the safety measures of social distancing and self-quarantining because of this pandemic, connecting with people isn't as easy as it used to be. So what do we do? Zoom meeting? Facetime? Or do we look to Scripture and see how God has always had a way of making lonely places serve greater purposes? Join us as we discuss the idea of learning to embrace the lonely places we may be experiencing, and the courage that comes from realizing we're never really alone.

Do you know someone who never seems to be bothered by anything? Like, nothing phases them? No matter the circumstance, they're calm, cool, and collected? Well, that may not come natural to all of us, but this Sunday, we're going to look at a statement of Jesus that does make it possible for all of us. We're going to learn that no matter what may be going on around us, we can still have peace within us. So join us and find out how to obtain "The Peace You Need."

Trivial Pursuit

If you could ask God for one thing...what would it be? There's a fun question to think about. But how we answer that question also reveals a lot about what is really important to us in life. It reveals a lot about what we truly value. Because come on, if we could ask God for just one thing, we're going to want to make it count. Join us Sunday as we look to Scripture for some guidance on how to answer this question and see that there is one thing we can value above anything that creates the opportunity for us to have everything we really need.
