Philippians: Jesus First

Joy Over Happiness

February 4, 2024 • Josh Cribb • Philippians 1

This week we start a new series studying Philippians a letter written by Paul. Josh covers the beginning of the letter which served to show us that joy overcomes all circumstances of life. Even in Paul’s imprisonment at the time of this writing he has great joy. He understands that in this place he’s able to further the gospel and fulfill the commission of Christ. The circumstances didn’t change God’s capacity to use his vessel and that in a life of surrender is the fulfillment of joy.

The Highest Position

February 11, 2024 • Neil Perry

This week covering Philippians Neil delivers a message on the expectation of humility in the followers of Christ. We see that Paul throughout his ministry continually grows into more humble character. As he serves his mission he understands better that there is a grand separation between who we are and who Christ call us to. Christ bridges the gap when we humble ourselves in service of the kingdom.

Faith, Focus, and the Future

February 18, 2024 • Jeremy Jenkins • Philippians 3

This week Jeremy covers chapter 4 in our series on Philippians. Paul emphasizes in this section of the letter that no amount of worldly affirmation compares to the certainty of salvation in Christ. We are confirmed through Jesus’ sacrifice and a life surrendered to Him is our worship. If we find solace in anything else we will find ourselves running towards destruction instead of the life that God desires for us. If as Christians we lose our focus on the mark we are determined to live a hard life that we were not called to.
