Near to Jesus

Week 6

Jeremy Jenkins

n the last hours of Jesus' life, we see a glimpse of a special disciple. The disciple "whom Jesus loved" was aware of things that no one else present in the upper room was aware of, and we must ask ourselves, "why?"

What we know to be true of Jesus, as well as where He is positioned in our lives, tells us much about our relationship with Him. There is one more important question we learn from John 13 though. Do we listen when He whispers?

Rejected by the People

Jeremy Jenkins

Jesus felt more rejected than any human ever had, or ever will. In Matthew 27:15-26 we read of the moment where crowds of people, both the elite and the common people, rejected Jesus loudly and violently. Now we look around the world we live in now and see that most people have a favorable opinion of Jesus even if they don't believe in Him. So why was He rejected? The answers to that question tell us so much about Jesus and even more about ourselves.
