There is an inseparable connection between the sin bearing work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the sin killing work of his beloved saints: in other words, I want you to see the deep linkage between (1) Christ’s penal substitutionary atonement and (2) your sanctification.

DOCTRINE. The Lord God struck Christ for the sins of His people, so that a fountain of cleansing would be opened for them. OR There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
