In this message, Duane Sheriff teaches the importance of developing spiritual "grit" during today's challenging times. Grit is defined as patience, perseverance, and endurance, especially in the face of hardship. While the word "grit" isn't in the Bible, all the heroes of faith demonstrated this quality.

Acts 14:22 emphasizes the need to endure tribulations to enter the Kingdom of God. It illustrates Paul's return to the cities that persecuted him after being stoned in order to strengthen the disciples. This biblical account is a profound example of endurance in facing persecution. As Christians, we must be prepared to face afflictions, as Jesus warned in John 16:33.

Duane warns that difficult times are coming, and believers must be prepared to stand firm for truth and righteousness. There is a need for the church to be a "counterculture" rather than a "subculture," resisting evil while showing Christ's love. Defend biblical values in areas like gender, marriage, and the sanctity of life.

As we navigate these turbulent times, we are called to be kingdom-minded, understanding that while we may face opposition, we are part of a greater purpose. Are we ready to stand firm in our convictions, even when it's difficult? Are we prepared to be the salt and light in a world that often rejects godly values?

Take a stand against corruption, immorality, and injustice by participating in your community, school, and government. Rely on God's strength with true grit. Your courage will inspire others to do the same.

True Grit | Part 2

In this message, Duane Sheriff teaches that "True Grit" is an essential quality that is needed for leaders to face today's challenges and persevere in their calling. Although the word "grit" isn't in the Bible, biblical figures such as Noah, David, and Elijah exhibited the same qualities of perseverance, firm character, and courage vital to living out God's calling. The story of David charging Goliath shows the same true grit of courage and faith rather than fear and intimidation. Grit is required to resist evil and overcome challenges with the strength God provides. 2 Corinthians 4:16, where Paul encourages believers not to lose heart, assuring them that their trials are temporary and will result in eternal glory. This scripture reinforces that enduring hardships lead to our spiritual growth and strength. Philippians 3:10 highlights the three M's in ministry: man, method, and message. These components are necessary to grow through challenges, maintain a relationship with God, partner with His power, and adapt methods without compromising the message. This is not the hour to lose heart or quit. Jesus is coming soon to strengthen His church. This message calls for a revival of grit in the churches as we stand firm against cultural pressures. Leaders are to be trumpets and reclaim the power of the Holy Spirit.

True Grit | Part 4

In part four of "True Grit," Duane Sheriff teaches the importance of having spiritual endurance, which he calls "grit." He emphasizes that while believers are called to fight "the good fight of faith," they must understand that there are different types of suffering. Persecution and opposition often come because of living righteously, not despite it. In Mark 10:29-30, Jesus promises a hundredfold return to those who have left everything for the gospel's sake, "with persecutions." Blessings and opposition often go hand in hand in the Christian walk. Not all suffering comes from God; rather, some suffering Jesus took as our substitute, while other forms of suffering are an example for us. The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:16-18 that "the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." While suffering for righteousness is part of the Christian journey, the eternal rewards far outweigh temporary trials. We must maintain our faith and integrity even when facing opposition. Standing for truth in today's culture will inevitably bring resistance, but God's promises remain faithful.
