In part two of this message, Duane focuses on the three sources of condemnation: our hearts (conscience), others, and the devil.
It is our heart that condemns us, according to 1 John 3:20-21. While our hearts may condemn us, God is greater than our hearts and knows all things. The cure for this self-condemnation is repentance and receiving forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ.
The second source of condemnation comes from other people. Duane encourages us not to allow the culture, politicians, or even family members to condemn us. Stand firm in faith and do not be ashamed of the gospel, referencing Romans 1:16. Isaiah 54:17 states that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, including words used as weapons.
The final source of condemnation is the devil. Revelation 12:10-11 describes Satan as the "accuser of our brethren," and believers overcome the devil through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. Live a holy life, not out of obligation or fear, but because of your new nature in Christ. Understanding our identity in Christ helps us refrain from yielding to condemnation from any source. Reject condemnation and embrace the freedom and victory found in Jesus Christ.
