Moses led the people of God out of Egypt with the intention of leading them into Canaan, their promised land. It did not work out as he intended when an eleven-day trip turned into 40 years. When the Israelites’ failed to learn their Godly lessons at Mount Sinai, it was one more time around the mountain. That story is a shadow and type for us to study because Egypt represents today’s sinful world and Mount Sinai represents the equipping of us with the Word.
