WEAK FAITH TO STRONG FAITH

“I tell you truthfully, I have not found such great faith [as this] with anyone in Israel. I say to you that many [Gentiles] will come from east and west, and will sit down [to feast at the table, and enjoy God’s promises] with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven [because they accepted Me as Savior], Matthew 8v10

Jesus was talking about the centurion who showed great faith when he said to Jesus, only say the word and my servant will be healed. This man had great faith, he understood what authority was and he knew if someone with authority spoke, the situation had to change. He had never heard Jesus before, but he recognized that he was not an ordinary man and whatever he commanded would be changed. This is what great faith can accomplish.

And suddenly a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but Jesus was sleeping. And the disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us, we are going to die!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was [at once] a great and wonderful calm [a perfect peacefulness]. The men wondered in amazement, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8v26

In the above scripture Jesus shows what little faith cannot accomplish. They were afraid of the storm because their faith was weak. They had been listening to Jesus teach and preach, yet the word of understanding had never entered their hearts.

In your God given calling, you will have to spend time in the word and in prayer to get to know Jesus more, to grow from weak faith to great faith. You will change your world with your faith. Invest in your faith.

CONFESSION/PRAYER

Holy Spirit teach me daily to grow my faith, I desire great faith so I can move mountains and speak to situations so they can change, not only for me but for those around me as well. My faith drives out fear from my life.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16v11 Yes, in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy. When we say, practice the presence of God, it simply means, become God conscious in all that you do, in all of your daily living, talking, walking life. Engage God in your day. Whenever you remember, just invite the Holy Spirit in. Say to him as you get up in the morning, “good morning Holy Spirit”. During the course of your day, when you are overwhelmed by chaos or an unexpected situation, call on the name of Jesus and you will suddenly feel his presence fill your heart. Even in a joyful part of your life, speak his name and begin to thank him for his goodness in your life. This is a personal choice each of us have to make if we are wanting more in our lives. It is a glorious choice to have an intimate walk with God, it fills your life with a wealth of wisdom and power for each day. Give God a chance to change you today. CONFESSION/PRAYER Lord God almighty I need you more and more each day. Holy Spirit help me to practice being in your presence each and every day. You are my helper and comforter in every moment of my life. I give you all of me as you have given me all of you.

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18v1 But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. Jude 20 There are many types of prayer. Prayer of petition, where you make requests on behalf of others. Warfare prayer, where you command evil spirits to flee etc. However, in the life of a believer, praying is staying connected to God. Prayer helps us to hear God and receive direction in our lives. Prayer is essential. You may start out not knowing how to pray, but as you spend time in the presence of the Lord, you will grow to love prayer because it brings peace and allows you to learn the voice of God. it’s the most wonderful fellowship you will ever having. You should set aside time each day to pray. You may say I am too busy to pray, the response to that would be, you will be even busier if you do not pray. God can make things happen that would not be possible in your own strength. Give God a chance, it’s so worth it. In your relentless pursuit of your God given calling, prayer is a divine connection to heaven that gives you authority on this earth. CONFESSION/PRAYER Holy spirit I give myself to you to help me develop a time to worship the father and a prayer language to speak to him. I need his spirit of counsel and might in my life. I need direction for each and every day, so my prayer life prepares me for each day.

And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him— The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and strength, The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the LORD—Isaiah 11v2 The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead reigns in us. This is the presence of the Holy Spirit. This spirit of counsel rests in us as well. It is the spirit of wisdom and understanding that helps us in our daily lives. When we meet people who are in need of counsel, you will find this spirit of counsel well up on the inside of you and you will begin to speak words to the people, not realizing you had this on the inside of you. The presence of God makes you rich in wisdom and understanding so the spirit of counsel can help you in your everyday life. God placed his spirit in you so you can be an extension of him on this earth. Let the Holy Spirit use you in counselling others. It’s God’s way of reaching out to his people through you. This is the wealth and riches he talks to us about. The debt of love to others. CONFESSION/PRAYER The spirit of the Lord rests on me as it rested on Jesus. Holy Spirit help each and every day so I can reach out when someone is in need of counsel. It is not my own words that I speak, it is your words, so it brings healing to the hearer.
