In the trials of both Jesus and Peter we see the utter faithfulness of Christ and a picture of our desperate need.

Mark closes his gospel in a peculiar but purposeful fashion to highlight Christ's death and leave us with an important question.

In recording the event of Jesus' crucifixion, Mark reveals most clearly the identity of Jesus as God's suffering servant and king.

The innocence of Jesus is made clear, while Barabbas is a picture of our guilt.
