While Shepherds Watched

12

While shepherds watched their flocks by night all seated on the ground

The angel of the Lord came down

And glory shone around, and glory shone around

“Fear not!” said he, for mighty dread has seized their troubled minds

“Glad tidings of great joy I bring you and all mankind, to you and all mankind”

To you in David’s town this day is born, of David’s line

The savior, who is Christ the Lord

And this shall be the sign, and this shall be the sign

The heavenly Babe you there shall find to human view displayed

All meanly wrapped in swathing bands

And in a manger laid, and in a manger laid

All glory be to God on high, and to the earth be peace

Goodwill henceforth from heaven to men

Begin and never cease! Begin and never cease!

This child that you’ve delivered will soon deliver you Mary, did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? Mary, did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hands? Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? And when you kissed your little baby boy you have kissed the baby of God The blind will see; the deaf will hear; the dead will live again The lame will leap; the dumb will speak the praises of the Lamb Mary, did you know that your baby boy is the Lord of all creation? Mary, did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations? Did you know that your baby boy is heaven’s Perfect Lamb? This sleeping child you’re holding is the great

Away In a Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed The little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head The stars in the sky looked down where He lay The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes But the little Lord Jesus; No crying He makes I love thee, Lord Jesus; Look down from the sky And stay by my cradle ‘til morning is nigh Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay Close by me forever, and love me, I pray Bless all the dear children in thy tender care And fit us for heaven, to live with thee there.

The First Noel

The first Noel, the angel did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay In fields where they lay keeping their sheep On a cold winter’s night that was so deep Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel! Born is the king of Israel! They looked up and saw a star shining in the east, beyond them far And to the earth it gave great light, and so it continued both day and night Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel! Born is the King of Israel! Then entered in those wise men three, full reverently upon the knee And offered there in His presence, their gold and myrrh and frankincense Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel! Born is the King of Israel!
