Merry Christmas! Christmas, from Christ-mass, marks the arrival of Jesus the Christ, the God-Man, who came to seek and save the lost (Lk. 19:10). While the stories surrounding his arrival are commonplace, He is not common. There is no one like him, which is why the Apostle Paul described his own ministry as one of proclaiming the “unsearchable riches of Christ” (Eph. 3:8). This Christmas Eve, we consider just one of those riches—the glory of Jesus’ incarnation.
Christmas Eve
December 24, 2017 • Pastor Adam Sinnett • 1 John 4:9–10
Merry Christmas! As you know, this is a particularly unique Sunday as it coincides with Christmas Eve. Christmas, of course, marks the birth of Jesus the Christ, truly God and truly man, who came to save the lost - people like you and I. Though we can't be exactly sure when Jesus was born, what we do know is that his arrival changed the course of human history. Why? Because he was God come in the flesh (Mt. 1:23). While conditions of his arrival could not have been more humble, the implications for us could not be more profound. Therefore, today we are joining with Jesus' people across continents, and millennia, in celebrating his arrival. Friends, our Saving-King has come - and is coming again.
The Genealogy of Jesus and God’s Stunning Grace
December 24, 2015 • Pastor Adam Sinnett • Matthew 1:1–16
Merry Christmas! Christmas marks the arrival of God in the flesh, in Jesus, over 2000 years ago. Yet, the Christmas story is not merely an irrelevant story of ancient antiquity. It is our story; the story of the world. It is the story of God pursuing those He loves, becoming one of us in order to rescue us. It’s the story of redemption, hope, and salvation. It’s the story of fulfilled promises, changed lives, and amazing grace. Its the story that makes sense of, and gives purpose to, all of our individual stories. That’s what Christmas is about – this too-good-to-be-true news of Jesus. Christmas, of course, isn’t the end of the story, but only the beginning. Ultimately, Christmas makes way for Good Friday and Easter. But, tonight our focus is on the arrival of God, in Jesus - He is Immanuel, God with us.
The (Full) Christmas Story
December 24, 2013 • Pastor Adam Sinnett
As we celebrate Christmas Eve, Pastor Adam guides us through the Full Christmas Story. The story of Jesus begins not at his birth, but at the beginning of time. The Bible tells us the full story, from the creation of the Earth, the forming of Israel, the prophecies of the prophets, and through the gospel stories themselves tell of Jesus and what he came to accomplish for us.
