Discovering Grace

The Reformation's five solas

Glory of God Alone

October 29, 2017 • Pastor Adam Sinnett • Romans 11:33–36

On October 31st, 1517 Martin Luther posted 95 theses to the castle-church door in Wittenberg, Germany. By doing so, he unwittingly sparked the Protestant Reformation. This month marks the 500th anniversary of that fateful day. In light of that, we are walking through a five-week series called Discovering Grace—as that was what the Reformation was all about, a re-discovery of the grace of God, in Jesus. This series is based on the five “Solas” (Latin for “alone”) of the Reformation (Sola Scriptura, Solus Christus, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, and Soli Deo Gloria). Today, we conclude our series with Soli deo gloria (glory of God alone).
